Man dies of heart attack after hitting her with a dime coin article An 18-year-old man died in hospital after he struck his wife to death, police said Tuesday.
The teen’s death was ruled a homicide, according to the Jefferson County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office identified the teen as Joseph DeLeon, who had lived in the family home for about three months.
DeLeon was pronounced dead at 1:23 p.m.
Tuesday at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital, said police Lt.

The sheriff’s office did not say how many people were in the home at the time of the incident.
Deputies say the couple lived in an apartment complex in the 500 block of S. Cesar Chavez Boulevard.
A neighbor said she heard screams and saw DeLeon outside the apartment complex.
He had been hitting his head on the door, the neighbor said.
“We were just trying to figure out how to get in the house and we heard the guy yelling and screaming, ‘Help me, help me,’ and he just hit me,” the neighbor, who didn’t want to be identified, said.
The man’s wife, who lives in the same apartment complex, was inside at the same time as DeLeon.
She also was outside, and her son also was inside the apartment.
The man’s sister, who lived in another apartment complex next door, also heard screaming.
She was also inside at that time.
De Leon was taken to a hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening, Johnson said.
He was pronounced deceased at 2:09 p.k.
